Ranking Upgrade of Urmia University in one year in Webometrics International University Ranking System

Webometrics published its latest version (beta version) of the University Rankings on January 28 this year, reviewing more than 31,000 universities and research institutes from 200 countries. Over 11994 universities worldwide and 714 universities from Iran have succeeded in participating in this ranking. The first to fifth ranks of our country belong to the University of Tehran, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Shahid Beheshti University, Amirkabir University, and Sharif University with world rankings of 349,446,580, 594, and 659, respectively.

According to the Vice-Chancellor for Research and Technology, Urmia University received the ranks of 29 in the world and 1902 in the world and witnessed a remarkable promotion in one year. The world ranking of Urmia University in January 2020 was equal to 2145, and in July 2020, it was equal to 2021. In the latest report, this ranking achievement improved by 243 steps after gaining the world rank of 1902 in January 2021. Also, during this period, the national ranking of the university has improved from 31 to 29.

Urmia University congratulates this valuable achievement to all hard-working researchers, professors, students, and all university colleagues. It will strive harder and further in its internationalization efforts and quest for excellence.
